Grains

It is All About Spelt

Spelt is an ancient grain. It has a nutty flavour when it is cooked and is very pleasant to mix other foods with. There are three types of spelt according to my homeopathic veterinarian.

  1. Triticum Monococcum, diploid from Celtic extraction, called Einkorn or small spelt. There is one row of grain.
  2. Triticum Dicoccum, tetraploide called Emmer with more starch. This has a double row of grains.
  3. Triticum Tricoccum, hexaploide called “rouquin” and “poème”, the real
triticum spelta. This has a triple row of grain. The “rouquin” grain has the best nutritional and therapeutic virtues.

This is really the only grain cats and dogs should be eating as this grain does not grow when exposed to pesticides and the like. It is a major cleaner of the organs and body full of silica which provides elasticity to the body while supplying nutrients.

How Benefits the Body

The body derives the following benefits from spelt:

  • Rich in animo acids such as lysine and methionine
  • The carbo-hydrates digestion is slow, therefore, no spike in insulin
  • Due to slow digestion, provides a feeling of warmth, fullness and balance to the whole body. Husks used in pillows and mattresses to provide immense warmth to the body.
  • Rich in magnesium, this is fabulous as this is depleted heavily when any being is under stress
  • Rich in silica which supports the body’s elasticity and docility
Preparation

The grain ideally is soaked the night before in a stainless steel or ceramic pot. This wastewater is then drained. Double the amount of water to grain volume is then added to the pot and cooked for 30-45 minutes.

This is healthy for both cats and dogs as part of their meal. Cats no more than 25% and dogs no more than 35% of their meal.

Other Grains

Due to pesticides and the adulteration of other grains and the species design, nothing else is ideal. If one does not have access to this grain, then millet, quinoa and brown rice come up as grains they are able to process but are not ideal long-term.

About gluten. Based on my work, I think everyone is being very misinformed. I do not find gluten is an issue for the body. It is not the bad guy. What I can see missing from the larger part of the conversation is what substance is BINDING to the gluten in the grains.

Pesticides, herbicides etc., such as roundup and glyphosate are wreaking havoc on the grains, manipulated them as well as GMOs which no one is talking about when they mention gluten.

These chemicals cause leaky gut and therefore, when one eats these products the body is in distress. Microplastics are also playing a part here too as most grain is shipped in plastic in high temperature supply chains. This allows fungus and yeast to thrive in the body creating a real mess in the digestive tract and a state of dis-ease.

Stop the chemical / pharmaceutical companies spraying the food supply, eliminate GMOs – the greed seed, stop shipping food in plastic, and gluten becomes a non-issue.
