Circadian Clock

The Circadian Rhythm Body Clock

The Circadian Rhythm Body Clock is a 24-clock which in within our bodies, our animals’ bodies and all life on this planet to my knowledge, which is tied to the cycles of the planet. This clock is contained within every genome in every living organism on this planet, and manages every nuance, every rhythm in our organic bodies including our sleep-awake cycle. This clock is also very aware of temperature. The sophistication of this clock and all the minute clocks within are remarkable.

The circadian clock represented on this page, to my knowledge, was mapped in ancient times and is a significant tool in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The clock indicates the flow of energy through the body, every two hours, which corresponds to meridians and vessels in the body. This is shown in the chart above.

Each meridian in linked to an organ and has a sister meridian. The linkage is designed where one organ is dense with the corresponding sister organ being hollow. This is shown ion the chart below.

Planet Elements

In addition, each organ and its sister organ are linked to an element of the planet. When one is off balance the sister organ or vessel** will also be struggling. This is important to understand.

It is my understanding the element Air is not represented as it is part of all the elements listed. I have also read in ancient times the system was not tied to physical elements as such, the mapping was to “states of everything”, the flow of energy, how it moves not to the physical states.

The Two Vessels

While the organ meridians are self-explanatory and conduct the life force of the being, the two vessels mentioned above are not organ specific, operating on a higher level communicating with the aura. The first vessel, the Pericardium is referred to as the “protector of the heart” and the second vessel, the Triple Warmer conducts “one’s whole energetic system”. Hormones are within this cycle. For those of you who may consider these meridians, further explanation may be found on the Meridians & Vessels page.

Pineal Gland

The pineal gland located in the Third Eye Chakra regulates the circadian rhythm, the body’s internal clock. This helps maintain homeostasis in the body. Alexander Quinn reports this is the chemical and quantum glue holding and regulating galactic time.

The pathway of light is via the optic nerve to the suprachiasmatic nucleus within the hypothalamus to the pineal gland.

How this Applies to your Animal

When any of us are healing, cleaning, and / or out of balance we can always look to the time of day to understand what organ is under the most stress at that time. For instance, if an animal gets up at 1.00 AM to 3:00 AM to throw up, purge, go to the bathroom, we know the liver is cleaning the system, and needs some help.

This is why a journal is very important. By keeping a journal on each of our animals, we can see what is happening against the time of day, which helps highlight if something chronic is potentially brewing. It also provides insight, which may not be important to the pet owner, but to the healer – patterns may be found confirming what they are finding on their end regarding imbalance.

I always ask clients to record their information against the 24-hour clock as this provides a lot of information about what the body is doing internally.  Keeping a journal is also very helpful too for all healers, and of course, veterinarians as the more information the better.

Example of a Journal Entry
  • 7:00 AM | Yantha looks nauseous, just woke up, has not eaten anything
  • 7:15 AM | Yantha threw up – mucous, yellow bile nothing in it
  • Feels much better after eating

This I watched and recorded for a few days trying to help her heal. The timing was impeccable. After trying a few homeopathic remedies, I then resolved she must have something foreign in her gut floating around. This was before I was muscle testing and dowsing which would have confirmed this right away.

Sure enough, with a little help, out came a plastic bit of cucumber wrapper. Gosh, that must have hurt floating around on an empty stomach. A lot of pain. You may read more about this healing journey on the Diatomaceous Earth page.

The journal was an essential tool in the process, because I could then consistently see her struggle was at 7:00 AM which told me it was her stomach which needed attention. And that this was consistently happening on an empty stomach. Not always do animals throw up in the morning, other organs could be involved, such as kidneys causing them to purge at different times of day. Again, time of day was a huge indicator where the body needed help.

Sleep-Awake Cycle

The circadian clock controls the sleep-awake cycle. Based on the amount of light received, the eyes signal to the brain when it is time to sleep. Darkness, the lack of light via the eyes signals to the body to produce melatonin preparing the body to sleep. When the body is kept awake with artificial light, and blue light from devices, the eyes do not send the signal and therefore, melatonin, an important hormone produced by the pineal gland, is not produced.

This applies to all our animals too.

Jet Lag & Animals

All carbon-based beings experience jet lag when moved from time zone to time zone. It is said we all need two weeks to adjust for six hours of time zone change. This is well documented in the sports world when athletes must travel for competition.

If you are travelling with your animal, please be conscious of this. Bach Flower Rescue Remedy is a fabulous non-toxic natural energy remedy one can give weeks before and after the animals have travelled.

Gratitude to All the Planet’s Creatures

While reading the book, Circadian Rhythms, A Very Short Introduction by Russell G Foster and Leon Krietzman, I have to say I was alarmed at how much damage humans continue to do to other species in the name of science. Study after study, around the world, mice, fruit flies, hamsters, rats, squirrels, chipmunks, warblers, and sheep to name a few species have not only been derived of their natural habitat and sleep, but have had their brains manipulated to help humans understand “the why” and “the how”.

If each of us, spent the time going within, the answers would be delivered without these horrific studies to the planet’s magnificent creatures. We are not separate, as the mind so conveniently wishes to propagate.

Circadian Rhythm Respected in Muir Woods

Muir Woods is located in California, USA. It is a magical place where these phenomenal redwoods stand having been protected by John Muir long ago. What is interesting to read is how it took the conservationists time to understand the needs of the forest to not only maintain the forest, but also allowing it to thrive. One component of this was respecting the rhythms of the forest in alignment with the planet.

Minimal disturbance is sought, with silence respected, and the light respected (no phones or flashlights) so nature is not disturbed by humans, leaving the forest undisturbed as much as possible. I thought this was fascinating that the wisdom of the forest was understood, being listened to, and its deep connection to the planet’s rhythms. And if the redwoods were to survive long term, that this connection must be deeply protected, and respected.
