PFA’s, Gore-Tex & Raincoats

Are PFA’s & Gore-Tex Poisoning Your Animal?

PFA’s, Perfluoroalkyl or Polyfluoroalkyl Substances, is a chemical category which includes approximately 15,000 different chemical compounds, two PFOA and PFOS within this category are deemed unacceptable exposure no matter what level to life. This chemical category is referenced “forever chemicals”. The EPA provides a document explaining the dangers called PFA’s Explained.

Gore-Tex uses PTFE, Polytetrafluorethylene, which is used in Teflon no-stick cookware.

Most outdoor wear is being covered in these chemicals which not only exposes the body to toxins wearing these chemicals, but also the environment. If your animals are wearing these kinds of products then they most certainly will be walking in the run-off absorbing the chemicals through their paws, while the pet owner, is protecting them from the rain.

Your dog is deigned to be in nature. Designed to handle nature. They grow a thick Winter coat to protect them. From my perspective, in most cases the animal does not need pet industry products to protect them, they are designed perfectly fine.

Your Gear Is Poisoning You!

Really fabulous video showing us how outdoor wear is contaminating us all including the beautiful planet. The pet industry sells lots of Gore-Tex products to the pet owners who love their animal. But the question becomes, are pet owners poisoning their animal?
