Good Fats

Good Fats for Your Animals

Fats are very important for the body not only do they support lubrication and nourishment in the body providing essential fatty acids (EFA) but as a result they help the body clear toxins and all the fungus, yeast, bad bacteria and mycotoxins which would then build in the body due to the toxic load.

Therefore, as our animals’ bodies are no different, nor is their toxic exposure, fats are vital for their health and a valuable food staple for their body, mind and spirit.

The types of fats the body loves to run on are essential fatty acids and unsaturated fats. Trans fatty acids and hydronated oils are harmful to the body.

Most people know about the omega balances. The Omegas 6’s and the Omega 3’s are key to optimal health where the ratio should be 3:1 for dogs and cats when looking at the omega 6 to 3 ratio.

The following oils support this ratio. Keep in mind it is beneficial for humans to take in 2 tablespoons daily of coconut oil to help maintain their EFA ratio. This also supports good gut flowing out to the skin, nourishing the skin.

Good Fats
  • Butter
  • Beef and lamb tallow
  • Coconut oil, anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, very high in MCTS’s
  • Olive oil, organic, cold pressed, first extraction; please make sure the coconut oil sources is of high quality as I am finding linoleic acid in some meaning they are not all pure
  • Garlic oil, homemade recipe below

Oils must be virgin, cold-pressed, first extraction and ideally in dark glass bottles and fed in raw state, not cooked nor heated.

Homemade Garlic Oil

How to Prepare

Please do not use the stove to make this, or any warmth, you will destroy important properties making the oil toxic.

  1. Peel and cut a bulb of garlic placing it in a dark jar
  2. Fill the jar with olive oil, cold pressed, first extraction, organic
  3. Leave for 15 days in a dark, cool place
  4. Filter the garlic out of the oil
  5. Use the garlic for cooking

The garlic oil is good for 6 months stored in a dark, cool place. Give two teaspoons to each animal twice a week. When there is a full moon, give the garlic oil for three consecutive days, this clears all parasites!

Fats Used in Self-Selection ONLY

The animals know what they need, please DO NOT add to their food. All should be organic, cold-pressed, first extraction.

Although high consumption of seed oils is not good, using these oils to help correct an imbalance, the body is able to process out the linoleic acid. However, do not use these ongoing, and keep in mind if on the shelf they are rancid. They must be sourced refrigerated.
