Kombu Broth

Kombu Broth

This is fabulous and very nutritious for run-down animals and anyone needing a boost of goodness. This is seaweed, dried kelp, slow simmered for a whole so all the nutrients are released. It is simple and easy to make and very good for everyone.

The kelp can be found in the grocery stores in the Asian section usually. Nothing else is to be added, it is just plain seaweed/kelp as shown in the photo above and below.

How to Prepare
  1. Soak the seaweed for 8 hours before cooking in water
  2. Place 4 cups of filtered water in a stainless steel or ceramic pot
  3. Bring to a boil, allow to simmer
  4. Cut one 4” strip of seaweed into small pieces, dried kelp, photo below, into small pieces and place in water
  5. Allow to simmer for 30 minutes
  6. Let cool
  7. Remove seaweed
  8. Serve or place in fridge for future use for up to one week
  9. Provide animals either teaspoons or tablespoons daily depending on their size. Do not make their food wet, as this could create dampness in their body

If you are cooking this and your animal is interested, allow them to drink what they require. A larger batch may be needed if this is the case.
