The Tail

The Importance of the Tail

The tail is a crucial part of the body of an animal. It often gets overlooked I feel. Those species with a tail have vertebrae, and blood flow running here, with many acupuncture points linked to all their organs via the governing vessel. The GVT acupuncture point sits at the very end of the skeleton tip in the tail of dogs, cats and horses. The dogs, and cats skeletons extend to the end of their tail, shown in photo below, with the horses tail skeleton running down approximately fifty percent of their entire tail, assuming the length of the tail has not been trimmed.

The tail is also, I am finding, may be a HUGE source of pain especially when there has been a fall, or any mobility issues, where the tail may have been used unintentionally for balancing. The vertebrae may therefore, be out of alignment. The slightly indented soft spot, located on the top of the tail where the tail meets the body, can also be impacted as a gland sits here called the Violet Gland. It may become infected, and be painful affecting litter box uses and ease of elimination. The animal’s eyes can be greatly impacted by this gland also when this area of the body is compromised, due to how the life force flows. This can all be cleared, and healed with energy.

When the tail runs into the body, it connects to a major acupuncture point called the BAI HUI, also along the governing vessel, which sits on the mid-back of the body at the top of the pelvic bone where the hip joints are located, shown below. This region is within the ROOT Chakra, which represents the animals safety, security and connectedness to the planet. If the Root Chakra is at all damaged or closed, due to a fall or any sort of trauma, physical or emotional, dis-ease will begin to manifest very quickly as the energy flow of the being is essentially blocked. They will not be grounded nor connected to the planet. Their energy will be unbalanced, presenting flighty, insecure, needy behaviours to name a few.

I am always testing for pain along the tail to make sure nothing is being missed. It is a vital part of the body, so please pay attention to what you animal may be messaging you. Namaste’.
