It is not healthy for any being to have their trauma on replay. For animals who have been through trauma, whether this is loss, rehomed, abuse, people tend to replay the story over, and over again to everyone they meet. As soon as one meets the pet parent, if the animal has been rescued, this is highlighted with sorrow always I find. And if there has been extreme trauma then all this comes out in words usually when the animal is present too, so the trauma is played for the animal over again.
What I invite people to understand is, your words create visions in your mind. We do not have words without visual. This is how we are ”made”. The animals grab the energy from our words, and the visual. So, every time the pet parent re-tells a story, the animal is reliving the trauma through your expression over, and over, and over again. And, they are also being identified by it. Perhaps the pet parent has decided this is who they are. However, we are not our trauma, and neither are our animals.
What is also important to know is “words” trigger memory. If one says “abuse” to someone who has experienced this, this will trigger the emotion and the memory. If someone says something like “they used to beat him” with regards to a horse, well, the word “beat” – just this word could potentially trigger the memory and past event. We all must understand the power and vibration of these messages, and the words. Keep in mind this trauma can be released at the cellular level, and healed using the codes, as long as the pet parent and those around the animal do not keep repeating the story.
I remember meeting a young, beautiful dog, and the pet parents, in the forest. The pet parents were full of fear. I asked them why they were sectioned off in the forest, and so fearful? And they explained to me that 5 years ago, their dog was attacked.
So, this animal, has been in their “reply” mode for 5 years. He has not had freedom to run, he is sectioned off from other dogs constantly on walks, has fear coming down his leash on every walk because the pet parents are stuck with this story. This one incident is on replay. And what the people probably do not understand unfortunately, is that it is their fear that is creating the whole circumstance.
This is not thriving, and is most certainly not healthy for the humans nor the animal. And the fear will attract other fearful animals as this animal will be emanating their pet parent’s energy. This puts the animal in a very compromised position every walk, and impacts their quality of life greatly.
The answer. They cannot. They are being kept in this space via the pet parents. What we all wish to do is heal. To move on and heal. Not stay stuck in the replay of “this happened to me” daily for years and years and years. Nor do we wish to be identified by our trauma. This is NOT who we are and it is NOT who our animals are.
Each and every being on this planet is on their own journey. Sometimes, for us to get on the path we wish, we go through trauma. Now at the other side of the trauma is usually good stuff. For the animals, they find a new home, they find their forever people. This is part of the journey, it does not define who they are, nor how they wish to be seen.
So, when introducing your animal – say they are “this amazing being that came into your life and you are so lucky to share your life with them.” End of story. Please do not replay any negative circumstances unless you are dealing with a healer, like myself, who will ask you for this kind of information in order to help the animal release any associated emotions during the sessions as the body, mind, spirit connection is addressed.
No being wants to be pitied if their intention is to grow and live a full, happy life. Animals for sure are all about the future and how can I heal and move forward with you, my pet parent.
If they had a rough start, and you know they need healing, then energy work is profound as there may be trauma in their energy fields affecting their physical state. I am finding this with a lot of horses. Zoopharmacognosey, is humbling, as the animals select the remedies to release their trauma and any emotions associated on their terms. There is always deep relief witnessed during these sessions. It is a sacred space I hold during these sessions.
Please always see your animal as the best they can be. They follow you, your energy, your vibration, your vision.
This was a tough blog to write, so I hope my communication is received in a kind, informative manner. It is not my intention to minimize traumatic experiences, but to communicate, that they are not who we are. We are all here to shine bright, and be seen as such, healing and moving on from these experiences.
May you share with me what you are looking for in just a few words? Thank you for taking the time, Nicola
